Impressive performance of a team of young mathematicians from Ukraine on IMO -2018
Our children and innovations are a single whole. The development of the abilities of schoolchildren, growing in the era of digital transformation, depends on positive changes in the future. That is why for many years UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group actively supports young mathematical talents and cooperates with the charitable foundation “Athena”.
We are proud that in the beginning of July the intellectual daily training of schoolchildren gave their outstanding result — the Ukrainian team won 4 gold and 2 silver medals at the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). For the first time in history, the Ukrainian Olympiad took the absolute 4 place in the team competition.
A separate event was the fact that the Kharkiv schoolgirl got the prestigious award as the best participant of the Olympiad from Europe together with three girls from other continents. Alina Garbuzova repeatedly won at the olympiads for girls and this time distinguished herself as a part of the Ukrainian team at IMO -2018.
“The development of children’s abilities becomes the basis of positive changes. It is mathematics that opens the door to a multidimensional world of innovation, forming new trends of the future. The future scientists, designers, engineers or financiers — schoolchildren, whose support our bank is engaged in, begin the process of digitalization of transformation, — said Janina Olkhovska, Head of Brand and Communications Service of UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group. — Of course, quality training, a strong teacher and a love of exact sciences give their result, but apart from daily work, support and recognition is an important component of success.”
