Following the principles of sustainable development and maintaining the gender balance in business, UKRSIBBANK has been developing the Women in Business project for three years in a row. The initiative focuses on women who are engaged in entrepreneurship or provide business management. Figures show that the representation of such women in Ukraine, as in most other countries, ranges from 25% to 30%. According to research, increasing the participation of women in business helps to improve the economic situation not only for themselves but also for the economy as a whole.

At the same time, women are more likely to emphasize that they lack knowledge, so they are focused on continuous learning and rising awareness. According to analysts, 56% of women believe that they lack relevant information for professional development in management, taxation, marketing and other specific areas. 52% of women said they lacked self-confidence, and 42% of women lacked funding sources for business development.

“Every year we strengthen our Women in Business program. We receive feedback from project participants and look for new opportunities that can help them both in professional development and well-being,” says Yanina Olkhovska, Director of Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility and Engagement at UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group. “Women are really creative and effective business owners and project managers. They are not afraid of professional challenges, persistent, creative in solving problems. Moreover, women reinvest their profits in the development of their families and, consequently, society. Therefore, by supporting women in business, we ensure the sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy and our society.”

As part of the BNP Paribas international financial group, UKRSIBBANK is an active promoter of sustainable development, including the idea of gender equality. In developing the Women in Business program, UKRSIBBANK focused on three key areas: information and counseling support – a series of training and practical seminars and video counseling, psychological support for women – encouragement and motivation for the development, and assistance in business development and financing.

By supporting various socially important events, the bank is committed to help women boldly take their first steps in business, as well as develop their business, bring it to a new level of profit. In particular, this year the bank became a partner of She Congress 2021, a series of meetings “Her way of doing business” from the European Business Association, launched a series of free legal advice on its own YouTube channel for Ukrainian SMEs. This series is interesting and useful for all clients, entrepreneurs, or those who plan to develop their own business.

In the near future, the bank plans to create a comprehensive banking package for women entrepreneurs, which includes both general traditional daily banking services and individual privileges for business owners and managers.

Entrepreneurs can already test the service at an international bank by taking part in the Business Drive campaign. So new SME clients – legal entities and individuals will receive

  • free crediting and transfer of non-cash funds
  • free connection and use of the UKRSIB business Internet banking system with a high level of transactions protection
  • high quality of service thanks to a personal manager
