Women in business UKRSIBBANK program included in the Voluntary Review of Ukraine’s Business Progress towards Sustainable Development Goals

The Women in business — UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group Women’s Entrepreneurship Support Program has been included in the Voluntary Review of Ukraine’s Business Progress towards Sustainable Development Goals.

The Voluntary National Review of Progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals is a report that UN member states submit to the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development to evaluate progress towards the achievement of the Goals.

Denmark, Japan, Sweden, Finland and other countries have already reported on their achievements. In 2020, Ukraine and 46 other countries are going to represent their reviews.

For the second year in a row, the UN Global Compact networks in various countries of the world have been creating a voluntary review of business progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national level. In Ukraine, such a document was prepared for the first time. The UN Global Compact in Ukraine has prepared a review of private sector practices. In particular, the document presents cases of Ukrainian companies those set themselves the goal of working according to SDGs and made it as a part of company business strategies.

The Chairperson of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine, Tatyana Sakharuk, noted that Ukrainian business more often set up a long-term sustainable development strategy and aimed at satisfaction of interests of not only business owners, but also all other engaged stakeholders: consumers, employees and society.
