Payments for imported goods by own funds

The main documents1 required for the payment processing:

  • The agreement (contract) with the non-resident.

  • Annexes to the agreement that are an integral part of it (i.e.: specification, etc.).

  • In case of import agreement transfer to JSC «UKRSIBBANK» for servicing: additional agreement on changing bank details for JSC «UKRSIBBANK» details

  • Payment Order: the «payment purpose» field shall have a reference to justification documents, details of the recipient under the agreement.

  • If the goods are delivered outside Ukraine (without import) — the agreement with the non-resident on purchase of goods from non-resident outside Ukraine and transfer of proceeds from its sale to the resident accounts with the authorised banks of Ukraine or documents confirming the necessity of a resident to use goods for own needs outside Ukraine.

  • Documents according to NBU Res. No. 369 dated 15.08.2016 «On the procedure of the analisys and invistigation of the documents on financial transactions and their parties» (if needed).

1 — the documents shall be submitted to the servicing branch in certified copies . Copies shall be certified by the signature of the head/head authorised person and the seal.

Features of the payment orders (PO) processing. Payment orders received until 12:00 are processed in the course of the same operation day. Additional documents, depending on the terms of the agreement:

For payments after delivery:

6.1 Customs declarations (availability in the register)/Service Acceptance Certificate/, intellectual property rights transfer, etc.

PO in the amount of <USD 50,000 (equiv) executed by the bank on the day, when it was received.

PO in the amount ≥USD 50,000 (equiv) subject to justification by reasonable documents and shall be executed by the bank not earlier than on the 3th operation day in case the NBU doesn’t reject it.

For advance payments:

6.2 The invoice and other reasonable documents for advance payment.

If the agreement amount <USD 50,000 (equiv), PO is executed by the bank on the day, when it was received.

If the agreement amount ≥USD 50,000 (equiv), PO subject to justification by reasonable documents and is executed by the bank not earlier than on the 3th operation day in case the NBU doesn’t reject it.

Important!

  • The total amount of advance payments under all agreements with one non-resident shall not exceed USD 50,000 (equiv) within one month, including the current payment, otherwise, the NBU approval is required.

  • Commission for PO processing shall be debited independently by the bank, therefore, on the day of payment it is necessary to accumulate the required amount on the current UAH account for the payment to be performed in the foreign currency.

  • Advance payments in foreign currency for imported goods under the agreement, the total amount of which exceeds USD 1 000 000 (equiv) shall be performed only via letter of credit payment method. The letter of credit shall be approved by the first-rank Bank according to leading rating agencies (Fitch Ratings, Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s).
