UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group started its activities in June 1990. Imagine how many incredible changes and turns we have witnessed, how much experience we have gained. The beginning of the bank activity actually coincided with the beginning of operation of the financial system of Ukraine. 2022-2023

In 2022, with the beginning of the war, the main goal of the bank was to provide uninterrupted customer service: individuals, entrepreneurs, large corporate business, as well as ensuring the safety of customers and employees.

The bank was included in the «30 resilient private companies of Ukraine», was recognized as the most resilient sbank of Ukraine, was included in the rating of the best employers and became one of the winners of the «Wartime HR» nomination.

As one of the largest and systemic banks of Ukraine, UKRSIBBANK joined ATM roaming and the NBU POWER BANKING project — the creation of a network of bank branches that are able to work and serve customers even during a blackout.

The bank introduces various customer support programs, cancels commissions, extends the validity of cards, etc., joins the state program ePidtrymka, and together with partner Mastercard, begins cooperation with Diia.Business centers in Ternopil, Uzhgorod, Odesa, Poltava, and Kryvyi Rih.

With the support of the Group, the bank donated UAH 28.8 million through the United24 fundraising platform for the purchase of modern ambulanced, provides humanitarian aid and joins the creation of the Mental Help platform of UN Global Compact Ukraine.

In 2023, with the support of the bank, new Diia.Business centers were opened in Rivne, Lutsk, and Bucha, and the «Smart Lady» offer for women in business was launched.

The bank supports charitable initiatives: rehabilitation of defenders, building of a school with the help of an industrial 3D printer, support of the country’s medical institutions, etc.

UKRSIBBANK leads the resilience rating of Ukrainian banks according to the Ukrainian media NV and investment company Dragon Capital, No. 1 «Resilient Bank»according to the results of the annual FinAwards 2023 award, is included in the TOP 50 best employers of wartime by Forbes Ukraine.

2022-2021

  • 2021 – UKRSIBBANK launches a virtual card, offers clients the Dreams service, developed and successfully launched in Sweden, confirms TOP Employer international certification as the best employer in Ukraine and Europe, and joins the UN Global Compact.

  • 2022 – UKRSIBBANK confirms TOP Employer certification in Ukraine and Europe for the third time.

2011-2020

  • In August 2011, the procedure for the acquisition of 15% of UKRSIBBANK shares by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was completed. During the year, the number of customers exceeded 2 million.

  • 2014 – the bank was on top of the Private Banking Awards rating by the leading British magazines – The Banker and PWM, which are part of the Financial Times group.

  • In 2015, Euromoney awarded UKRSIBBANK the title of «Best Private Banking Service» in Ukraine for the fourth time. On April 1, 2015, the bank was headed by Philippe Dumel.

  • 2016 – 40% of UKRSIBBANK shares are owned by EBRD.

  • 2017 –UKRSIB Online was launched. On December 5, Google Pay was launched, which became the next step in implementing the bank’s digital strategy.

  • In 2018, UKRSIBBANK implemented the Popcorp accelerator in search of fintech solutions and received the EBRD award for the largest number of implemented projects under the IQ Energy efficiency program.

  • 2019 – Apple Pay, Garmin Pay become available to UKRSIBBANK clients, and they can also exchange currency at UKRSIB online. The bank launches the Women in Business program to support the entrepreneurial potential of women and introduces UKRSIBBANK Open tennis days.

  • 2020 – UKRSIBBANK was awarded as the best employer in Ukraine and Europe — Top Employer. It is the only bank in Ukraine that has passed international certification as an employer, and one of the six international companies in the country that has TOP Employer status. In the same year, the bank launched remote customer service. Laurent Dupuch becomes the chairman of the board.

2001-2010

  • 2001 – the bank’s assets exceeded 1 billion hryvnias for the first time. The first branch is opened in Lviv.

  • 2002 – UKRSIBBANK conducts a large-scale placement of corporate bonds for 100 million hryvnias. Branches are opened in Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Rivne, Sumy and Kherson.

  • 2003 – the bank confidently enters the TOP-10 on the Ukrainian market and is recognized as the Best Investment Bank of Ukraine. The head office is moving to the capital.

  • 2005 – UKRSIBBANK is rated No. 4 in Ukraine by assets. At the end of the year, strategic cooperation with the international financial group BNP Paribas begins.

  • In April 2006, one of the world’s largest financial groups, BNP Paribas, became a strategic investor in UKRSIBBANK, the third largest bank in Ukraine at that time, with a share of 51%. Integration into the BNP Paribas group opens up new opportunities for UKRSIBBANK: involvement in a global brand, use of progressive global experience, transition to new management standards.

  • In 2007, the international media, such as Euromoney, Global Finance and The Banker recognized UKRSIBBANK as the best Ukrainian bank.

  • 2008 – the number of individual clients reaches 1.5 million, the network of branches – 1,000. UKRSIBBANK becomes the Bank of the Year, and the Active Money deposit is the Best Banking Product according to Mastercard.

  • In 2009, the share of BNP Paribas increased to 81.42%. Another year, the share of the international financial leader reached 99.99%. Since then, UKRSIBBANK is a 100% international bank. Leading world media EMEA Finance and Global Finance recognize UKRSIBBANK as the best foreign bank in Ukraine. The bank launches its own Internet banking Star24.

  • In September 2010, the bank was headed by Philippe Joannier, an experienced French specialist with experience working in the BNP Paribas group on 5 continents.

1990-2000

  • 1990 – registration of the commercial innovative bank – Kharkovinkombank in the state register of the USSR.

  • 1991 – the bank becomes joint-stock and is registered with the National Bank of Ukraine.

  • 1992 – renamed to UKRSIBBANK and the first foreign correspondent account opened in Scalber DuPont bank, the city of Lille, France.

  • 1994 – the first American Express check was issued. The bank joined the Association of Ukrainian Banks.

  • 1995 – the beginning of cooperation with SWIFT.

  • 1996 – increase of authorized capital to UAH 90 million. Opening of branches in Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Severodonetsk.

     

  • 1997 – the first bank branch opened in the capital.

  • 1999 – opening of branches in Poltava, Odesa, Kryvyi Rih. The bank was awarded the Gold Medal of the Association for the Promotion of Industry (France).

  • 2000 – UKRSIBBANK opens its doors in Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, and Mariupol.
