The joint project of UKRSIBBANK and Polcom won the Best in Cloud 2023 contest by Computerworld
Disaster Recovery Solution is a project of the UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group and the Polish company Polcom, which Computerworld magazines awarded first place in the nomination «The best implementation of a cloud service in the last 12 months».
Polcom provided a cloud-based solution that allows the bank’s IT services to be quickly restored in case of sudden incidents or disasters. Thanks to this, UKRSIBBANK can provide services without interruption, which is extremely important for quality customer service. This solution ensures the availability of key banking systems and applications in case of unforeseen circumstances.
As part of the project implementation, Polcom provided a backup data center service for key systems used by UKRSIBBANK, in particular SAP. In addition, the company provided a special server environment and cloud services. The implementation of banking IT systems in the cloud environment of the Polish provider was also accompanied by the implementation of protection measures against DDoS attacks.
The development of a backup IT environment in the Polcom cloud is part of a larger process of adaptation to the new geopolitical situation. The decision to use Polcom’s services and implement the Disaster Recovery Solution project allowed the bank to flexibly manage the IT infrastructure in dynamically changing conditions.
The banking system is part of the country's critical infrastructure, which must function under any circumstances. Within the challenges of war, we see that the flexibility and security of IT infrastructure plays a key role in ensuring the stability and continuity of business operations. We strive to work out various scenarios and countermeasures so that our customers do not experience the consequences of the unavailability of the IT environment and can access their accounts and our online banking platforms UKRSIB online and UKRSIB business. The cloud-based Disaster Recovery Solution aims to do just that. This project is a good base for further development and customer service at the highest level.
